Dixie (above) is a rescued dog looking for a home. The retired greyhounds (below) are also looking for homes. Our dog park will help let people know about pets like Dixie, these greyhounds, and others who need loving, forever families!

SAVE LIVES
Susie, Clint, and Rusty were found underneath a warehouse building. They were starving to death, full of parasites, and had horrible skin conditions. They were just minutes away from being euthanized. Some dog lovers rescued, rehabilitated, and socialized them, and all 3 were adopted into wonderful, loving families -- totally happy and healthy -- and enjoying interaction with other pets! Our dog park can educate people about caring for pets and for stray animals...and help place animals like these!

SHARE WITH OTHER COMMUNITIES AND GROUPS
This is a Basenji (breed) club, enjoying the day at a dog park. Our park can host specialized groups that will educate the public about different breeds, about caring for their pets, and about sharing fun afternoons with dogs!
Did you know that a number of Palmetto Bay residents "show" their dogs professionally!? We might want to showcase some of those dogs at our park and learn about those fascinating competitions!

REINFORCE LAWS
Our dog park will serve to reinforce laws (regarding cleaning up after your pets, vaccinating and licensing your pets, etc.). We will be a role model for dog parks in other states!

PAY TRIBUTE
Our dog park will serve as a place where people can memorialize loved ones they've lost or recognize deeply respected people (veterinarians, military members, employers, friends) in their lives through such things as personalized bricks and tiles, or dedicated benches, trees, plants, and signage. They can then spend time in the park, relaxing, reflecting, and sharing happy times with others.

RELIEVE STRESS
Our park will serve as a fun place to take your pets to spend a few hours. Everyone needs time away from the stresses of everyday life...this will be a nice break for people and pets!

Were you aware that chocolate, raw bread dough, mistletoe, holly, poinsettias (leaves and stems), raisins, grapes, alcohol, avocado seeds, coffee, and aspirin (among other things) are TOXIC to pets?
...this is just one more reason for education through the dog park!
